Letter to Members 5th October 2007

Dear Member,

Following the recent tender process, during which tenders were received from 7 companies, the management committee have now appointed the chosen builders to undertake construction of the new clubhouse and other related works. Full details of the builders appointed, and the other professional services retained by the Club on the project, are set out below.

Site work is scheduled to commence on Monday 15th October with an agreed build time of 45 weeks. The turning of the first sod will be held on Sunday 14th October at 3pm. and members are very welcome to attend this very significant occasion in the Club’s history.

The new clubhouse will be built on the upper car park and putting green, overlooking the 18th green and fairway. Plans and other drawings for the project remain on display in the clubhouse and on the club website. The existing clubhouse will still be used while the new clubhouse building is being progressed.

We have also commenced the task of relocating the greenkeepers compound and this particular project will be progressed over the coming months in tandem with the construction of the new clubhouse and car park.

As the overall project commences and building work begins, we would ask for your cooperation, patience and goodwill due to the various temporary arrangements which will necessarily be in place during the period of construction.

We look forward with confidence to having the new clubhouse and ancillary facilities completed and ready for the members use by September next year.

Letter to Members 7 June 2007

Dear Member,

Management Committee have applied for Planning Permission for our new clubhouse.

The plans and other drawings are on display in the clubhouse along with architects visualizations of how the new clubhouse will look. Both plans and visual impressions are also published on the club website.

There was a slight setback to the original schedule as a result of the refusal of Fingal County Council (after a number of meetings) to accept our original roof design of a conventional roof.

Fingal County Council outlined a number of roof designs which would meet their approval and based on this, our design team together with architect and engineer submitted a mono pitched roof design in line with our projected costs and visual requirements, which they approved.

The new clubhouse will be built on the upper car park and putting green, overlooking the eighteenth green and fairway. A new putting green will be built in the lower car park together with other practise amenities.

We plan to use the existing clubhouse while building is in progress and our target date to start, depending on tendering and planning is early October 2007. With a build programme of 10 to 11 months.

Management Committee now intend to release the plans to tender, subject to planning approval and this should bring the project in line with our time schedule.

As we approach the commencement of the project and indeed during the actual construction of the new clubhouse and car park I would personally ask for the cooperation, patience and goodwill of the members due to the temporary arrangements which we will be forced to put in place during the period.

Tendering is an open process and interested parties may request tendering documents from the Project Management Co., O’Byrne Jenkins & Co (attention Ms Patricia Power).
